Drum Roll Please

Cue the Hallelujah Chorus! Strike up the band! Do your crazy dance! Do whatever you must to celebrate this great big news:

We not only reached our $875,000 annual campaign goal, we exceeded it by a whopping $33,000, raising a total of $908,489 for the 2014 Camp Annual Fund drive!

We can only imagine what you must be saying right now. “Holy Cow!” “Whoa!” and “Good Goggly Moogly!” come to mind.

And rightly so. The results from this year’s campaign – and the many campaigns that have come before us – have demonstrated each year, two important things about the camps we love. First, people really do care about the lifelong impact these camps have on the lives of young people and on the important rural communities in Pamlico County. And second, we have the capacity to give generously when our powerfully stated mission and vision for these camps reach the people who share our passion for building character in young people. It’s that simple.

We owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to the many men and women who have chaired and staffed the annual campaigns of the past, the people who dared us and pushed us to believe in our potential. It’s those early pioneers that played an important role in making this year’s success possible. And for that, we thank them.

And best of all? Imagine the impact $908,000 will have on the lives of children and staff we will welcome to our camps soon and well into the future. That’s why we do what we do. It’s not to reach or exceed a goal, it’s because we are reaching young lives and having a lifelong impact on them.

This is good stuff, folks. And we should ALL be proud of this accomplishment. So go out there and do your little dance. It’s deserved.
