I was a camper for three years and a counselor for five. I started as a Junior Counselor at the Swim Lake and eventually became the Head Counselor of the Camp II Buffalo. I tried my hand a few things after graduating from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but eventually realized Camp was where I needed to be and joined the Camp Sea Gull Director Team in 2010.

Anything outdoors, but mostly road biking and running. I enjoy signing up for destination events and spending time with family and friends traveling to unique places.
Honestly, I wanted to be an Olympic swimmer. My swim coach growing up would invite world class swimmers to give clinics to our team. I remember being enamored with the idea of being the best in the world at anything. Of course, coach would always take the opportunity to remind us, “If you’re like everyone else who wants to be the best, you’re going to have to work for it!”
That’s a tough one! One of my favorite childhood memories – other than Sea Gull of course – was going to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico with my Scout troop. I would love to go back one day.
And on my bucket list is a trip to sail from the North Carolina coast to Bermuda.
The best part about working at camp is undoubtedly the people. I love seeing campers and counselors from all over the world converge on Camp every summer – their energy and creativity give each session its own personality. People come to Camp to be the best version of themselves, and it’s truly a gift to be a part of each summer as it unfolds.
