New Food Service Provider Coming to Camp!

This summer campers and staff will be tasting the benefits of a partnership with Flik Dining, our new food service provider. Flik is most commonly
associated with independent schools up and down the East Coast, and including an overnight camp among their locations is a strategic match. Extended Season Executive Director, Allison Simmons led the search for a new food service provider. “Our Camp community expects excellence in every aspect of the camper experience while at Seafarer or Sea Gull,” she explains. “Flik is on the leading edge of food preparation and service in the K-12 market, our exact clientele.”

The food served at both Camps will be made-from-scratch. In fact, peas and corn are the only foods they purchase frozen. Flik prides itself on providing
fresh meals that support local and sustainable agricultural practices. “Our campers and staff should get excited for a new dining experience,” remarked Clay Jackson, also a member of the search committee, “but do not worry, we will continue long standing traditions like fried chicken on Sundays along
with other signature meals.” The team of Flik professionals are well versed in the constant evolving dietary requirements to provide safe, healthy offerings for all of our campers—special dietary needs or not. Flik will provide an experienced Director of Dining Services and two Chef Managers for Sea Gull and Seafarer. Other staff positions are hired within the local community and include regular in-service training to meet the organizations commitment to delivering quality food service. “They are the perfect fit for us, and I look forward to the innovation they will bring to our dininghalls,” Allison concludes.
