Over 300 members of our Camp family helped celebrate Seafarer’s 55th Anniversary two weekends ago. We were thrilled to see so many generations of alumni and families back at Camp for this special occasion. The weekend featured several signature events that honored our past and challenged us to focus on the importance of our future.
Every summer our campers participate in exceptional programming led by some of the most influential role models in the country. Camp staff, both summer counselors and full-time directors, are the essence of Sea Gull and Seafarer and we must invest in their training and professional growth. During the Homecoming weekend, we were thrilled to announce the naming of the Moss Endowment. This endowment was created to honor the leadership of Captain Lynn Moss. We have been blessed to have her at the helm of such a special place for more than a decade, and have all benefited from her passion, her servant leadership, her intention to create an inclusive environment and, especially, her generous nature. She has held every camper and staff member to very high expectations, and she has done so in an empowering and loving way.
This named endowment honoring Lynn will serve as a dedicated funding source to support staff and leadership development for Sea Gull and Seafarer’s directors. We want to create opportunities for full-time staff to grow as professionals and equip them with the necessary skills to train and lead summer staff. Alumni, parents, donors and volunteers like all of you have made Sea Gull and Seafarer exceptional experiences for thousands of campers and staff - it will be up to us and others to build upon the great work done by those who came before us to ensure excellence for future generations.
We invite you to support Camp and this special endowment. Please email Jon Vance for more information.
