Communications During Camp

We know that it's important for you to know how your child is growing and learning during Camp. There are a variety of ways for you to learn about their exciting adventures!

Camp to Parent Communications

  • We will email letters from the counselors to you by Sunday or Monday of each week.
  • We also encourage Campers to send letters home. Pro tip: pre-address letters to make this easier for your Camper.
  • We know that every child/family is unique and we will work one-on-one as necessary. Review our Partnership with Parents.
  • Be sure to follow us on social media. Camp Sea Gull and Seafarer Facebook and Camp Sea Gull Instagram and Camp Seafarer Instagram.
  • We're partnering with Bunk1 again this year to share photos of Camp and to provide you with one-way emailing to send your camper messages this summer.

Parent to Camp Communications

  • You can email your Camper each day through Bunk1 with updates from home. The emails are printed and distributed each day.
  • Contact the Camp Office with any questions or concerns. Call Camp Sea Gull at 252-249-1111 or Camp Seafarer at 252-249-1212.

Bunk1 photos provide you with a snapshot of life at Camp. Photos will include images of activities, evening programs and birthdays. We post on Bunk1 three times a week.

Due to our expansive grounds and extensive activities, we cannot guarantee photos of your camper. These snapshots of Camp may reflect the previous day’s events or other special moments during the session.

We are providing all parents a free download through Bunk1 of their camper's official cabin picture with the discount code: CABINPIC.

Photos are uploaded Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 5 p.m.

Visits at Camp

Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer provide an extraordinary opportunity for campers to gain independence and self-reliance. Visits by parents, friends and relatives during the Camp session are disruptive. Experience has shown that visitation, while enjoyable at the time, often results in homesickness and adjustment problems. Other campers are often adversely affected by their cabinmates having visitors when they do not. That's why we request that parents and relatives of current campers not visit while Camp is in session.

Calls to Camp

If you have personal concerns or needs about your child during the session and want more information, please call the Camp Sea Gull Office at 252-249-1111 or the Camp Seafarer Office at 252-249-1212. Your child’s Head Counselor team or a Camp Director will address your concerns and return your calls promptly. Parents should not call and ask to speak with their child except in an emergency.
