Hurricane Florence Damage Repair Update

We are so excited that our Spring Season at Camp is right around the corner! We are proud to be able to offer all of our activities this spring and know that we could not have reached this success without your support.

The shoreline at Camp Sea Gull has been restored and the new office furniture is being delivered next week. Golf Ball Trail Beach is ready to host epic tournaments and the Swim Lake will be ready for our first swimmers! The Piers at both Camps were significantly damaged and are repaired and more structurally sound than before. Roofs at both Camps are repaired and the final tree pruning to ensure the safety of all our campers and staff is being completed within the next week. The Boat House at Camp Seafarer had new doors installed and all the electrical paneling has been repaired. There is work still being done to realign the timber and install new hold down blocks and replace the necessary decking within the Marina but it will not interfere with any programming this spring.

After Hurricane Florence, we committed to not only repairing both Camps, but to structurally enhancing the buildings, docks, piers, and landscapes so that participants for years to come will benefit from the fun program activities that create lifelong memories and friends.

Be sure to check out our photo album to see the progress. We can’t wait to see you all soon!

After hurricane Florence hit the area last year, a few campers had the idea to raise money for people in need that had been impacted by the storm. They have contributed to rebuilding but wanted to do something more personal, so they started a furniture drive up here in New Jersey and plan to transport the furniture down to Pamlico County at the end of June.

They have had tons of furniture donated, almost two truckloads so far and can't wait to get it down there. There is a GoFundMe page to raise money for transporting the furniture if you are interested in helping them hit their goal!
