John Hyde

Program Director, Camp Sea Gull

John Hyde, from Wilson, N.C., spent 12 summers at Camp Sea Gull, beginning as a camper and then joining the staff as a Jr. and Sr. Counselor, Assistant Head Counselor, Camper Services, Head Counselor and SAIL On Captain.

After receiving his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, John was employed as an English Instructor at Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston, N.C.  He enjoys swimming, sailing and fishing. John serves as the Neuse Basin District Eagle Board Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America and volunteers with Christ Church in New Bern, N.C.

John holds a USCG Captain's license and is a US Sailing certified instructor.
