What to Pack
General information about packing – For all sessions at both camps
All personal items (including athletic equipment) and clothes should have the camper's name marked clearly on them before arrival at camp. It is suggested that campers leave jewelry at home and refrain from bringing unnecessary articles or expensive clothing. It is not necessary to bring golf clubs or tennis rackets unless desired, as the camps have an adequate supply. A list of all articles brought to camp should be placed inside the duffle bag or attached inside the top of the camper's footlocker. The camps' personnel will mark each camper's name on all camp clothing purchased and received on Opening Day. Efforts are made to locate and return missing articles to campers; however, Sea Gull and Seafarer are not responsible for lost, damaged or misplaced items.
Travel Light. Campers should pack based on length of stay, method of travel, and the conditions expected while at camp. The amount of "stuff" packed should be limited to the amount of space available to store it. The built-in lockers at camp will hold an ample supply of clothing based on the packing list. We already have golf clubs, lifejackets, fishing rods, bows and arrows, and horse saddles here at camp. The experience of leaving home is generally enhanced by leaving some of the familiar conveniences of home behind.
Campers will always want to have everything needed while at camp. Pack clothes and shoes that can be used for a variety of circumstances. Even travel size bottles and tubes of toiletries can be sufficient; if a camper runs out of toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen, shampoo, pens, flashlights, batteries, or stamps, just about anything needed can be purchased at the camp store.
Items to omit from packing include electronic communication devices, computers and games (including Game Boys), mobile phones, pagers, trading cards and skate boards. If these items are brought anyway, they will be collected and secured for the camper and returned upon his or her departure.
Tobacco products, alcoholic beverages and illegal substances are not permitted at camp. The possession, use, or consumption of any illegal substances may lead to immediate dismissal with no tuition refund.
What to Pack for the Four Week Sessions
A two-week supply of clothes is needed by each camper to accommodate the laundry schedule.
