Have a question for a parent of a current or former camper? 

Our Parents Committee knows the ins and outs of getting your child ready to leave home for Camp. They are willing to share their wisdom and perspective with you. No question is too big or too small.

Peggy Sykes: Peggy has two daughters who were campers and counselors at Camp Seafarer. She is a former Seafarer camper (1963 - 1966) and serves on our Board of Advisors. Peggy lives in Raleigh, N.C.

Billy Pruden: Billy serves on our Board of Advisors and is the proud father of two Sea Gull campers. Billy lives in Rocky Mount, N.C.

M.C. Hawes: M.C. is former camper, counselor, and administrative staff member at Camp Seafarer. M.C. also serves on our Board of Advisors. Her daughter was a camper at Seafarer and is on the motorboating staff for summer 2011. M.C. lives in Charlotte, N.C.

Megan Ziglar: Megan's daughter and son will be campers during first session this summer. All three of her children have been campers for several years. She is a former Seafarer camper (1981 - 1982) and a motorboating counselor (1984). She currently serves on our Board of Advisors and Board of Visitors. Megan recently moved to Chapel Hill, N.C., from New York.

Lee Worth: Lee's three daughters are longtime Seafarer campers. Her youngest daughter is attending first session at Seafarer this summer. Lee lives in Raleigh, N.C.

Caroline Rogers: Caroline is a former Seafarer camper. Her oldest son is attending Mariners at Camp Sea Gull, and her youngest son is attending Starter Camp for the very first time. Caroline lives in Durham, N.C.

I hear the cabins are not air conditioned. Can my child bring a box fan??

A box fan would be too large,

A box fan would be too large, but a small battery operated one that could clip onto the bunk would be an excellent choice!
