Camp Annual Fund

The calendar may read 2012, but you still have four more days to be counted in our 2011 Campaign for the Camp Annual Fund. Your gift will not only help us meet our goal of $675,000, but more importantly it will transform the lives of thousands of children who experience Camp this summer.

Each and every day during the summer months, halyards of the Sunfish are raised, the engines of the Sea Hunts are revved, and the freedom of the river is at fingertips of every camper. When asked what makes Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer’s seamanship program so great, Summer 2011 Sea Gull Motorboating Chief, Sam Yurow says “One can argue that it is our fleet boats or our tradition of excellence on the sea or the big open water off the foot of the pier.

“You can’t help but love someone once you know their story” is one of Lexi McBride's favorite thoughts for the day. As a former Head Counselor at Camp Seafarer, Lexi has had countless campers and counselors walk through that slamming screen door on opening day, all of which have left a meaningful impression on her and all of which have come with a story.  Consider this camper’s story as remembered by Lexi. . .

We did it! We accomplished our Project 50 goal of $150,000 and even did one better than that. With a total of $154,525 we can now say that in 50 hours, the Camp community came together and raised $154,525 which will ultimately send 51 children to Camp this summer! Special thanks to all of our donors, volunteers, participants, and staff that helped to make this happen. It is a great feeling to surpass a goal, but the feeling is made all the greater knowing that 51 children will benefit. Well done!
