SAIL On

For Sea Gull campers in rising 9th through 12th grades and Seafarer campers in rising 9th and 10th grades, who are ready to advance their sailing and seamanship skills. SAIL On is high adventure on open water.  Spend two weeks building teamwork and developing leadership skills aboard the 72' gaff-rigged schooner. Your floating home is your classroom as you raise sails, captain the boat and navigate the ship through the inner and outer banks of North Carolina's coastal waters. Call on a variety of ports, while learning the seamanship skills necessary to operate as a fully functioning team in a marine environment. 

US Coast Guard Certified Captains will help build a sense of camaraderie as you take responsibility for navigating and steering the ship, coordinate around-the-clock lookouts, perform daily chores and routine maintenance and prepare shipboard meals. Gain the finer points of ship handling and navigation with the use of nautical charts, GPS, radar and satellite weather feeds.
